Hesco Baskets
These are Hesco baskets, a little one stacked on top of a big one. All our little metal houses are placed between high walls made Hesco baskets, with not much room between the front door and the wall.
A Hesco basket is a container made of heavy guage wire mesh lined with some sort of fibrous material. It is set up and filled with dirt to make a blast proof barrier. Sort of like an everted trench. Very simple, very effective and saves a lot of time. It is a classic "Why didn't I think of that?" item. Very lucrative too, I imagine, for you find these things all over the imperial frontier.
As can be seen in the photo, shades of tan, ochre, khaki, light brown and beige are very popular in country.

Why not just make the walls out of that stiff instead of tin buildings surrounded by that stuff. They could even make walls from that and stucco over them, like the sod houses they are making these days. More homey, fewer materials and still safe??
