A few days ago, there was news conference held in Kin to announce the latest results of a program involving MONUC, the National Police, Eufor and the FARDC. The object of the program is to remove illegal weapons from the streets of Kinshasa so fighting will be less likely to break out.
The announcement was that 23 weapons had been collected and removed from circulation. I wonder how many of those weapons functioned.

How long has this program been in place? To say that 23 weapons have been collected does not seem like a lot of progress has been made, considering the presumed clout of the organizations collaborating in the project.
i think it has been in place for a few weeks or months. doesn't matter though, if they were serious or if the program was effective, 23 weapons could have been collected in the first hour.
