Haboob

This is a photo of a haboob approaching. I didn't take the photo. Somebody sent it too me. It was taken several days ago at our airport.

A haboob is a strong wind caused by air outflow from a collapsing thunderstorm. The cold air falls fast, hits the ground, picks up a lot of dust and dirt and keeps moving. When it hits, it turns black as night. Sometimes they contain rain and then it rains mud.
