Douglas Racers

These airplanes are parked on the airport ramp at Bujumbura, Burundi. A guy bought them from the Burundian military with the intention of using them for sightseeing flights around the great lakes area. Then the wars came and that plan came to naught. I don't know what the plan is now.

It would have been fun to sightsee in an airplane made in the 40's that flew in World War II. All the plans, big and small, that are ruined by wars, big and small.

Bujumbura is a very pretty place, like Taos, except with a big lake.
