Toys

There are very few toy stores here in the Congo; exactly one that I know of. So the toys are homemade. Here are 3 examples. I don't know if the boys made the spectacles and truck themselves. I know the one boy fabricated the soccer ball himself. It is made of plastic bags and tied together with bits of plastic line. That kid handled the line and knots like an able seaman.

Some of the pull toy trucks get pretty sophisticated with working suspensions and everything.

These photos were taken in the town of Dubie and in a refugee camp nearby.
