1 more random thought.

Not a profound one, but it shed some light on something.

It is always more effective to lead from the front, especially in truly critical situations. This is known by all, all the good ones, to be true. But why do the people follow more readily?

People don't like to go and do alone, even if they know they must. It's scary. And in a scary situation, every individual thinks he is alone, regardless of how many people are to either side. If he can see someone out in front saying "follow me" then he isn't alone anymore. He is with that guy. So he follows. As does everybody to either side. All because each individual thinks he is with that guy up front and they aren't alone.

Like I said, not a profound thought, but it ties some things together in my mind and makes it easier to grasp.
